2008 OAA National Opticians Convention to be held at the inaugural
ABO-NCLE National Education Conference.

 
March 19, 2008.  The Opticians Association of America (OAA) will hold
its annual National Opticians Convention at the ABO-NCLE National
Education Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 19-21, 2008 at the
Duke Energy Center.
    
Over 100 hours of ABO and NCLE approved education hours will be offered.
ABO-NCLE has developed the education program with support from their
education partners; National Academy of Opticianry (NAO), Opticians
Association of America (OAA) and Contact Lens Society of America (CLSA).
The National Federation of Opticianry Schools (NFOS) will be providing
instructors for the hands-on courses that will be running throughout the
weekend. 
 
The Conference will offer review classes for both the ABO-NCLE and
ABO-NCLE Advanced exams, with the corresponding certification
examinations offered on-site. 
 
The Optical Showcase exhibit hall will feature state-of-the-art
products, major companies from the optical and contact lens field and
"show and tell" demonstrations.   
 
OAA will hold their annual Delegate Assembly and Business Meeting on
Friday, September 19th, 2008 as well as a Board meeting on Thursday,
September 18th, 2008.   
 
The Guild of Prescription Opticians of the Opticians Association of
America will hold their annual Business Meeting as well as a Board
meeting during the conference.
