Word was received today from OAG Legal counsel Kirkland McGhee that
HB-241 the apprentice/trainee optician minimum basic education (MBE) and
registration bill passed the Georgia senate today by a vote of 51-1. Now
that both chambers of the general assembly have passed the bill, it goes
on to Gov. Sonny Perdue for signature to become law. The governor's
signature will usher in a new era of accountability in the training
process for optical apprentice/trainees in Georgia. To all members of
the OAG Nation who supported us in the long journey to make this bill
reality please accept our sincere thanks. More details of implementation
